1. As a child, which was your favorite ride at the amusement park?
2. What did you do as a child that got you into the most trouble? How did your parents handle it?
3. Describe a childhood birthday.
4. Have you met or worked with any famous people? Where, who, when…?
5. Tell about any pets you had as a child.
"I remember Mom telling about going out to the old Saltair (I think that is what it was called, as I understand it, it was by the Great Salt Lake). I don't know that they had a favorite ride but they would go out there for activites and dances, but there was a rollercoaster also, as I remember it. (If I am wrong, my brothers can correct me.)
I remember having a surprise birthday party for Daddy for his 70th birthday. We had it in our backyard. We had invited Mom and Dad to come up for dinner and when they arrived we were all there. We had a good time eating and playing games. As I remember it some of Aunt Inez' family happened to be there so they came as well. I don't think either Mom or Dad had many birthday parties as children, at least I don't know that I ever heard about them.
When Mom had the opportunity to go to England with the Singing Mothers, she indicated that some of the General Authorities traveled with them. They would have also been at the dedication of the Hyde Park Chapel, which is why they were there. Mom also had the opportunity to sing at October General Conference. I don't know how often they got to talk to the General Authorities but she got to see them.
I don't remember Mom or Dad talking about pets."

Memories Week #2
1. Do you know of a favorite stuffed animal or toy as a child they had? (I'd be amazed if you do know about this)
2. Tell about some of your neighbors in different stages of your life & their life.
3. What is a special smell you remember from your childhood or your parents?
4. Tell of when they did something special for someone else.
5. What was their greatest joy? What was their greatest sorrow?
"Our neighbor that live across the street were the Wells family. They had 5 girls and they matched up close to each one of us in our family. There was Edith - LeAnne, Sharon - David, Lynette - Wendall, Laurel - Yvonne and Mary Lee - Marvin. They also had George. They moved about 1960 to Lander, Wyoming. I know with Marvin and I especially, we were always together with Laurel and Mary Lee, in fact there were times that Mom and Dad would say, "We should send your clothes to the Wells' as you are always there". And the Wells would say the same thing to their kids. We had a great time together. Mom and Dad would play games with them. I remember one New Years Eve that there was a party at the Wells'. I had gone to bed and woke up and Mom and Dad weren't home (I have no idea what time it was) and remember thinking something like "when are you coming home?"
Mom and Dad enjoyed playing cards with Harold and Margaret Robins. They would play at either house at least once a month.
I remember hearing about a camping trip that Mom and Dad took with several other couples. I don't know where they went or much more than that about it other than they went.
Almost every Saturday morning one of the things that we did was make bread. I would start the bread and then Mom would finish it. Some days we would have scones for lunch. I remember the smell of fresh bread coming out of the oven. There were times that as I came home from school I would smell cookies or something baking as I came in the door. It was wonderful to come home to those kinds of smells. I also remember the smell of pine cleaner. We used it to mop the kitchen floor.
I think their greatest joy was their family. They loved to be with family. They would be happy for the accomplishments that we made as their children. Their greatest sorrow was the death of their loved ones. That was hard for them, but they also looked for the good things that happened at the time of the passing."
